The Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI) discussion courses are for groups of 8 to 12 participants from a
workplace, a faith community, or the community at large.
Discussion topics include: Choices for Sustainable Living;
Deep Ecology; Discovering a Sense of Place; Globalization and Its Critics; Healthy Children, Healthy Planet;
Voluntary Simplicity and the newest topic Global Warming: Change Co2urse.

This first-of-its-kind website allows neighborhood residents to easily connect with one another using the
internet to share resources such as gardening tools and magazine subscriptions, offer their expertise services to one
another such as cooking lessons or computer repair, and organize groups for things like carpooling or social activities.

EnAct encourages sustainable living and strengthens communities by creating Environmental Action Teams in
neighborhoods, community organizations and workplaces. Team actions involve saving money while reducing waste, conserving
energy and water, protecting water quality, and reducing automobile use. EnAct is tailored to Madison and Dane County.

The Dane County Buy Local Initiative is a coalition of local independent businesses, social impact groups and
citizens working together to support a healthy community economy. We seek to mobilize resources in Madison and the surrounding area,
engage the total community in the process of economic renewal, and inspire each other to take action.
