I’m not your average tree hugger. I didn’t set out to save the trees, or the whales, or the birds. I’ve never been camping. Hiking through the woods has always paled in comparison to being right here in the middle of the city, surrounded by human activity. What inspires me, and what I love so much about our work at Sustain Dane, is diving into what makes for a sustainable future for all of us, and how all of us can be part of the solution.
Walkable and bikeable cities, access to fresh, local food, inclusivity as a top priority – these are just part of my vision for a sustainable Madison, and I’m lucky enough to have a job where I can work every day to get us there. You’ll find my fingerprints on many of Sustain Dane’s events and programs, including the Sustainable Business Network and our new Step Up initiative, the Badger Bioneers Conference, and our growing volunteer and intern program.
I’ve been part of Sustain Dane since 2010, after completing my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Geography with a certificate in Environmental Studies from UW-Madison. I live on Madison’s East Side and enjoy biking to work, experimenting in gardening, and curling up with a good book and my dog on the weekends.
